Amperity Appoints Aria Haghighi as Head of Data Science
We’re excited to announce that Facebook engineering leader Aria Haghighi has joined Amperity as Head of Data Science. Building on three years of experience as an advisor to Amperity, Haghighi will now be taking a front-row seat, leading our world-class data science team and continuing to expand our core capabilities in using machine learning to resolve customer identity.
“Aria has worked at some of the largest and most valuable companies in the world, including Facebook, Apple, Google and Microsoft, and his advice and counsel based on those experiences has been invaluable to Amperity over the past three years,” said CTO Derek Slager. “Beyond that, Aria’s deep technical expertise is unique. I’m excited to see his enthusiasm to be hand-ons and expand his advisory work with us to have an even greater impact on our team and product. His proven leadership abilities, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep knowledge of emerging technologies are a perfect fit with our plans to take Amperity to the next level and will help us provide even more value to our customers in the years ahead.”
Haghighi brings with him nearly 15 years of technology experience and has played key advisory and leadership roles in both startup and enterprise companies. Most recently, Haghighi was Engineering Manager at Facebook where he was responsible for leading the Newsfeed Misinformation team, which uses machine learning and natural language processing to improve the integrity of content on the platform and tackle the prevalence of fake news, hoaxes, and misinformation. There, he also led teams in core relevance, content ranking, personalization, and experiences for news and sports. Prior to Facebook, Haghighi served as CTO and Chief Architect at Pioneer Square Labs, a Seattle-based studio that creates and launches technology startups. He has also held leadership and technical roles at some of the world’s biggest tech companies including Apple, Microsoft and Google.
“As an advisor to Amperity for the past three years, it’s been exciting to watch the platform develop and deliver amazing value to such household brands as GAP, Nordstrom, TGI Fridays, Alaska Airlines, Lucky, Wynn, and many more,” said Haghighi. “I’ve also watched Kabir and Derek bring together an incredible collection of engineering and brand experts who are working together brilliantly. I’m excited by the opportunity to join this amazing team and help Amperity leverage machine learning and AI to help marketers take on any customer data problem.”
