Our story

When Derek Slager and Kabir Shahani founded Amperity, they weren’t trying to build a customer data platform. They were rethinking how customer data should work in a world of constant change.

They saw brands collecting more data than ever, yet relying on brittle systems built on manual rules and custom code. Every new channel or identifier added complexity, and the harder teams tried to “fix” the data, the faster those systems broke.

The founders took a different view. Customer data isn’t broken. It’s dynamic. People change names, devices, and behaviors over time. Systems built on static logic eventually fail. Amperity was built from day one around machine learning models that adapt as customers evolve.

That AI-first foundation allows Amperity to continuously learn, resolve identity over time, and maintain stable customer profiles without constant human intervention. Today, the same philosophy guides the company as AI moves from analytics to real-time decisioning and agent-driven experiences.

Kabir Shahani and Derek Slager co-founded Amperity with the belief that trusted customer data is the basis for durable growth. Kabir helped establish the company’s original vision around data integrity and identity. He went on to found Amp It Up Ventures and now serves as founder and executive chairman of Adora and Avante. Today, Derek leads Amperity’s AI vision as co-founder and CTO, focused on building the best-in-class, AI-first platform grounded in accurate, governed customer data. Under his direction, Amperity is designed to support intelligent, agent-driven use cases that turn complex data into reliable decisions at enterprise scale.
