2025: The Year Amperity Set a New Standard for Customer Data

A year of innovation that reshaped how brands personalize, segment and activate in real time.

An illustration of the words: 2025 Year in Review

This year, Amperity shipped a wave of capabilities that fundamentally changed how brands activate customer data. The theme across every release has been clear: move faster, personalize smarter, and eliminate the friction between insight and action.

The results speak for themselves. Brands using Amperity's personalized journeys are seeing 198% higher conversions and identifying millions of new high-value prospects outside their loyalty programs. Here's how we got there.

Real-time profiles: act at the speed of the customer

The centerpiece of our Fall 2025 release, Real-Time Profiles represents a breakthrough in how brands connect with customers. For the first time, live customer signals (a cart addition, a loyalty tier change, a booking abandonment) are instantly linked to a customer's full historical profile, often within milliseconds.

This isn't just faster data. It's a fundamentally different way to personalize. A retailer can recognize a loyal shopper the moment they land on site and instantly surface products in their size and preferred style. A hotel brand can detect a guest browsing upgrade options and deliver a targeted offer before they click away. Every interaction draws on the complete picture: lifetime value, purchase history, preferences, and consent status.

"Brands need to act at the speed of the customer," said Grigori Melnik, Amperity's chief product officer. "Real-time insights are now the difference between generic engagement and true one-to-one personalization."

Real-Time Profiles also establish the foundation for AI agents to operate with live context, surfacing insights and triggering next-best actions as customer data changes – not after the fact.

Journeys: orchestrate cross-channel campaigns visually

Customer journeys aren't linear, and your tools shouldn't force them to be. Amperity Journeys, introduced in our Summer release and enhanced throughout the year, provides a visual, no-code canvas for designing and executing complex workflows across email, paid media, owned channels, and direct mail.

With Journeys, marketers can build event-triggered experiences that respond to real-time signals. Recover abandoned carts with a personalized offer. Send a pre-trip message to a traveler based on their booking. Celebrate a customer's loyalty milestone the moment they hit a new tier. Campaigns can now run as frequently as every three hours, with orchestrations firing every 15 minutes – perfect for day-parted messaging, rapid A/B testing, or real-time responses.

Fall enhancements added merge paths to rejoin split audiences within a workflow and journey activation states to track exactly which customers entered, moved through, and exited each node.

AI-powered segmentation: build audiences in seconds

Audience building has traditionally been a bottleneck in campaign execution. The Segments AI Assistant changes that by letting marketers create and edit segments using natural language.

Type "Build a segment of predicted high-value customers based on tiers" and the assistant generates the logic. It works for analysts and non-technical marketers alike, making segmentation a collaborative effort rather than a specialized skill. Custom prompts for AmpAI, added in Fall, let teams align AI responses to their specific business logic, so the assistant understands your terminology and rules out of the box.

Purpose-built industry solutions

In November, we launched Amperity for Hotels and Amperity for Airlines, which are turnkey solutions that combine Real-Time Profiles with industry-specific use cases. These solutions help travel brands act on signals like mobile check-ins, upgrade browsing, or booking abandonment to deliver the right offer at the exact moment of decision.

Expanded data access and activation

We also shipped a range of infrastructure enhancements that make it easier to get unified data where it needs to go:

  • Amperity Bridge for Snowflake and Google BigQuery: Share unified customer data bidirectionally with your data warehouse using Secure Data Sharing – no ETL required.

  • New destinations: Activate audiences directly to Dotdigital, MoEngage, Movable Ink, LinkedIn DMP, and Google Enhanced Conversions.

  • Profile API improvements: Look up customer profiles using flexible, multi-criteria search to power real-time personalization and customer service.

  • Activation IDs: Define and manage multiple identifiers to support different channels and downstream audience requirements.

  • Bring your own storage: New tenants can use their own Amazon S3 or Microsoft Azure storage with no significant architecture changes.

What's next

Every capability we shipped this year points toward the same vision: a Customer Data Cloud that's real-time by default, AI-assisted at every step, and seamlessly connected to the tools marketers use every day. If you haven't explored these features yet, log in to your Amperity dashboard or request a demo to see them in action.
